2026 FALL Summit Swim and Dive Team Information Swim team try-out dates: Mon-Wed, Oct 19-21, 7:15-8:30 pm You MUST come all three days if not in club swimming Club swimmers, please attend on Wed, Oct 21 (Practice times M-F, 7:15-8:30) Dive team try-outs: Mon-Wed, Oct 19-21, 4:30-5:30 pm Club divers, please attend every day (Practice times, 4:30-5:30 pm, M-Th) Team selections, Wed, Oct 21 Swimming/Diving is open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders, but pool space requires us to limit our team. This is not a learn to swim program. Following is the swim selection criteria. 1. Must be able to swim with face in the water and use good rhythmic breathing. 2. Must be able to swim at least 2 full lengths of the pool without stopping. 3. Must have a good attitude and be able to listen and follow directions. It is possible that a swimmer may meet all the criteria but still not make the team if there are many swimmers. Due to lack of supervision, no locker rooms will be available before swim practice. Please arrive with your suit on and adequate covering for warmth. Locker rooms will be available for 5 minutes after practice. Swimmers may use locker rooms on meet days. Swimmers should meet in the hallway by the art room NO LATER THAN 7:15 PM, M-F. Do not go directly into the pool area. Divers should be seated in the pool bleachers NO LATER THAN 4:20 PM. Athletes must be picked up from swim and dive within 15 minutes of the end of practice, This is a deal breaker! Please know that the SACS grades policy will be in effect for the swim/dive season. Refer to the school website for a full explanation of the grades policy. The following forms need to be on file in FINAL FORMS online before a student can try out with the team: 1. Medical Authorization and Contact Info Card 2. ISHAA Physical form (one per school year, completed before the first day of tryouts) 3. Concussion and Cardiac arrest form (one per school year, completed before the first day of tryouts) 4. Random Drug Testing form (one per school year) 5. Students must complete the necessary signatures as well. Please submit these forms in Final Forms before the first day of try-outs. Each swimmer/diver that makes the team will be asked to pay a mandatory $25 athletic fee.
